Who is behind this site
korouomawaterfalls.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. He also runs a few other guides to day tours in Lapland and elsewhere. There is no agency and no editorial team: one person reads the tour listings, writes the pages and answers the e-mails.
What this site does
Most Korouoma tours look alike at first sight: a van from Rovaniemi, a winter hike, a campfire. The differences sit in the small print. Some pick you up at your hotel and some only outside the centre; some hand out spikes, overalls and boots and some list none of them; group sizes and minimum ages vary. We put those details next to each other, add what the Metsähallitus pages say about the trail, parking and safety, and link to the booking page. We do not take bookings ourselves.
How the site is paid for
When you book a tour through one of our links, the booking platform pays us a commission out of its own margin. Your price is the same. No operator pays to be listed, and the tables are sorted by number of reviews, not by commission.
Where the information comes from
Prices, ratings and review counts come from our booking partner's API and refresh automatically. Pickup, hike length, inclusions and age limits come from the operators' booking pages. Facts about the area, the trail and parking come from Metsähallitus, the state agency that manages Korouoma, and from reporting by Yle. If something no longer matches, write to us and we will correct it.
What we are not
We do not run tours and are not affiliated with any operator or with Metsähallitus. For trail closures, parking rules and conditions on the day, the luontoon.fi pages of Metsähallitus and the operator's own messages take precedence over this site.
